Fastnet
After all the build up, training and qualifying races we eventually made it to the start line of the Fastnet.
Usually known for it’s rough seas and high winds – we felt as though this may be our ultimate off-shore challenge. In reality the weather decided to hold off for us and instead we had a light wind start and end to the race. Much gentler than we expected.
Our start was great – with us being first off the line. Followed by an announcement on Cowes Radio from New Zealand as Geoff’s mother decided to correct them on how to pronounce Tangaroa.
A great race, really glad we did it and looking forward to next year’s off-shore racing.
