To give you a taster of what the ports have to offer, on this mile building route, we’ve pulled together some of the areas’ highlights.
Monaco
OK – so Monaco isn’t in France. It’s an independent city-state located just east of France on the south coast. It’s famous for many things including being a tax haven, the Monaco Grand Prix, the Monte Carlo Rally and for generally being full of wealthy people.
An amazing city to start a mile building route from so, why not make a true holiday of it and explore Monaco for a few days before setting off on a trip to Corsica.
Bastia
Probably slightly less well known than Monaco but still an important port and an amazing place to visit.
Situated on the northeast coast or Corsica – Batia is to principle port and town on the island. The place boasts many things to see and visit including:
- Picturesque markets selling locally produced foods
- Colorful mixture of tenement buildings built into the hillside
- Lively and atmospheric port
- Narrow streets are crowned by a crumbling 15th-century citadel
Bastia is also famous for it’s wines so, why not sit back and taste the local specialties while taking in the surrounding atmosphere.
Travel arrangements to and from the boat are not included in the mile building package.
Where we can we’ll provide some local advice/ information on airport and transfer options. Below is information on the nearest/ local airports to the departure and arrival location.
Please remember that, as ever when sailing, we are dependent on weather. When booking return flights we recommend building in as much flexibility as possible.
